In what Investigators believe is a spin-off from last week’s on-stage lyrical between Vybz Kartel and Mavado at the Sting stage show, supporters of both artistes reportedly clashed earlier this week in an area off Manning’s Hill Road in Kingston known as “Big Yard”.

The incident has left one man hospitalized in serious condition with stab wounds. Another man who was also stabbed was treated and released from hospital, while several other persons reportedly sustained minor injuries during the confrontation.

The St. Andrew North Police believe that the incident started when a man was seen painting a mural of Mavado near the area known as “Big Yard”. Persons (said to be fans of Vybz Kartel) reportedly approached him and told him to stop painting immediately. There was a confrontation and the man (who was painting) was stabbed. Residents who are loyal to both artistes then converged on the scene, throwing stones at each other, then the second stabbing incident occurred.

The police have stepped up vehicular patrols in the area and will also attempt to bring both sides together for peace talks
