Roughneck Nuh Ramp Tour - Daddy Freddy and Tenor Fly on Hakuna Matataa Sound
(also known as The Centurion, The Serial Killer and The Beast Of The East)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjTc0GvS … t=firefox-
Super Cat, Barrington Levy, Nicodemus, Rebel Mc, Top Cat, Heavy D, Tony Rebel, Sugar Minott....
This list of names sounds nearly like the who is who in Reggae and the numerous chart hits don’t leave any questions open: Daddy Freddy and Tenor Fly are two of the most influential artists of the 80s/90s and both left their unique mark upon Dancehall in Europe and beyond.
To push Reggae to a next level it was, of course, important to have talent – but also to choose the right Soundsystems to proof and develop their MC and DJ-skills.
Therefore Sounds like Youthman Promotion, Killamanjaro, Stereo Mars and Sir Coxsone (UK) were heavily supported through Freddys and Flys qualities of entertaining. Sir Coxsone was also the first sound where both used to perform together and thereby became one of the leading Sounds in the UK those times.
Now we reached the year 2009 and its time for setting up the power of the past again to show the massive what dancehall meant back in the days of the 80s and 90s and why it became that prosperous. Instead of Coxsone, Hakuna Matataa Sound will join the team. The four guys from East Germany (Leipzig) could already gain their Soundsystem experiences through tours with veteran DJs like Welton Irie and Lone Ranger. To catch the vibe from way back when as original and authentic as possible, the idea of the Showcase style will be pushed more in the focus than before.
Hakuna Matataa will not only warm up the venue, they also drop several Dubplates and Tunes during the Backing to support the DJ-Combination on stage and to integrate both artists more into the Sound. This should only be the ruff schedule of the night, because due to the fact that two of the most experienced entertainers and DJs from the UK will conquer the stage, we can promise you that everything will be possible.
Niceness guarenteed!
Date of touring: 18.9.2009 - 10.10.2009 (plus/minus 1 week) (festivals in the summer-time we can play aswell)
