sorry to disappoint everyone who thinks i "don't know" or "don't respect" history, but the label was changed for the simple reason that i think the 2-Hyped label is ugly, and the Rythem Track label is cool looking. also, Callo and me both thought it would be cool to put "every knee shall bow" on the Rythem Track label to remind people that Callo was the first man to record Garnett (when he was called Bimbo) and that RYTHEM TRACK was where Garnett started as an artist. the two men were close personal friends and Callo takes great pride in being involved in Garnett's history as an artist. we also liked the idea b/c probably because there are some 90s reggae fans who know "every knee..." but they don't know about the early history of Rythem Track as one of the great early digital labels, so we aimed to establish a connection between the two things in people's minds. i explain this publicly ONLY out of respect for both Garnett and Callo.

You see that it's the same on every forum, repress haters all the way... they are so angry of a tune being repressed but at the same time they are so happy to see it's not on the same label so the orginial is different...
That's really something I do not understand... Appart from a few obsessive collectors that are 100% in the OG press, others LOVE represses until that's one of their treasures that's bieng reissued... and then start to diss each other work... useless

J'ai beau relire tout ce qui a été écrit, je vois pas de "haters" ni de "disrespect" dans aucun message....Juste que certains s'interrogent sur le pourquoi du changement de label, d'autres donnent leur avis sur le design des macarons... bref, rien de disrespecteux. Après oui, je préfère que le repress sortent sur un autre label par pur égoisme musical certe, mais crois moi que s'il avait été repress sur 2Hyped j'en aurais pas fait une jaunisse... J'ai d'ailleurs chopé une bonne partie de leur repress (le dernier Scion Success, KILLER) avec plaisir ! Mais oui, quand c'est un tune wanted que t'as la chance d'avoir, ça fait toujours un peu chier de savoir qu'il va être joué dans toutes les selections à venir... Bon c'est la règle du jeu, on en fait pas une maladie

onemore question though: it seems that people have compared the two press and the quality varies much, hence some complaints here. so i wonder where does this supposed difference in quality come from? i assume you used the original stamper so maybe the sound is different because of the mastering technics/materials used? it'd be great to have more info on this. not a big deal anyway.

no one has the new reissue. they have not even been shipped out yet. if anyone is talking about the sound quality being bad, it is just purely made up bad minded talk because no one has heard it, no one has a copy. the record is pressed from a new stamper cut from the master.

also, if someone is making a judgment of the sound quality of the record from the 128kbps sample posted on my website (the clips are meant as samples for people who might not know the tunes), then they have bigger problems than i can help them with.

edit: i just re-read the thread and i don't see anyone commenting on the sound quality? where did you get this "varies much" comment from?

from what you're saying, i think i may have misunderstood some comments here. i was just referring to posea's comment saying the repress is moche (sorry to point you out posea, no offence intended, honnest), but not sure what he really meant.
apologies if i misunderstood.

anyway, i hope the quality is as best as possible so people can enjoy the tune as i do when playing the 2hype cut.

j'ai dit que j'aurai préféré le label 2hyped dans un soucis d'authenticité autant que esthétique, moi aussi je l'aime bien ce macaron..si ca fait de moi un hater faudra changer la définition.

quand je dit moche, c'est par rapport au label...Le son je sais pas j'ai pas la repress...J'ai l'original depuis un bon petit moment et tant mieux que la repress soit sur rythm track, comme dit zefyko tout le monde est content...Les repress moi je les prend que quand j'ai pas le MP3 ou que je kiffe pas plus que ça le son...Quoi qu'il arrive il me faut l'original, j'ai acheté la série moving up, j'avais pas en MP3, depuis j'ai trouvé le ricky en 12", et j'attends de trouver les autres...

Yes Neeko, c'est surtout que le man se casse pour repress des morceaux pas communs et qu'un peu partout il est critiqué pour ça, j'ai plus réagi par rapport à une tendance générale lue sur plusieurs forums que pour des propos tenus exclusivement dans ce topic.
Pour le reste je suis à 100% avec toi et je te paraphrase, ça fait toujours un peu chier mais c'est la règle du jeu, j'ai pris le parti d'être content quand c'est des repress de tunes que je cherche alors je ne peux pas pester contre les repress de tunes que j'ai !
Faut juste creuser plus profond dans la box et ça tous les selectors ayant posté ici en sont capables sans le moindre doute
Alors respect à tous ceux qui achètent les repress et à ceux qui achètent les originaux, à ceux qui les font et à ceux qui les jouent en soirée... et pas de respect pour les voleurs et les obscurantistes !

Ca reste de la musique tout de même, non ? A piece of plastic comme ils disent...

Peu importe que tu joues repress ou original, l'important est de jouer ! Et tu peux très bien flop, n'apporter aucune réaction à ton public en jouant un original et mash up avec un repress ! Tout dépend de l'énergie, la vibe, le coeur que tu y mets, le speech d'intro que tu fais...etc...

Après 2 points importants : que le gars qui represse soit réglo ce qui est le cas de Digikiller et que la qualité du son original soit respecté...

Une dernière chose, les gens qui repressent auront à mon goût toujours un train de retard sur les fashion tunes comme ils disent...Et la musique est si large qu'il restera toujours des tunes obscures que seul certains acharnés connaitront !
