Irish and Chin RETURNS to the ARENA for Their 15th Anniversary

New York, New York -- January 3, 2011 -- To celebrate their milestone 15th anniversary in the business, Caribbean entertainment and promotions company Irish and Chin is taking it back to where it all started, their epic, highly branded "World Clash." As the flagship event in the sound clash industry, World Clash attracted tens of thousands of people during the decade that it was held in the U.S., Jamaica, England (as UK Cup Clash w/Reggae Girls Promotions), Antigua and Canada. Now, for one weekend only -- Easter 2012, die hard fans will get a massive dose of World Clash with heavy-hitting stagings set for New York on Saturday, April 7, 2012 and Montego Bay, Jamaica on Easter Monday, April 9, 2012. Plans are also underway for a re-staging of U.K. Cup Clash in England later this year. However, the series is not guaranteed for 2013.
Irish and Chin is thrilled that their partnership has been able to stand the test of time, allowing their company to remain relevant in the Dancehall industry for 15 years. To date, no partnership in this particular industry has lasted so long -- without falling off at some point. Through hard work, solid promotions and concepts, Irish and Chin has consistently produced high caliber events. Over the years, proudly, Irish and Chin has expanded their brand to include a wide array of Caribbean entertainment.

"Everything that our company has been afforded thus far can be accredited to the tremendous achievements of the World Clash brand," says Garfield 'Chin' Bourne of Irish and Chin. "World Clash is our signature event, which opened doors locally and internationally for us to become respected as a force in the industry....... we could not possibly celebrate our 15 years of accomplishments without re-staging this event!"

World Clash boasts a rich history, which is visible by it's enormous impact on sound clash culture. Single-handedly, Irish and Chin used World Clash as a vehicle of converting a once underground phenomenon of sound clashing with the actual sound systems as the main focal point to a complete "stage show" with selectors as celebrities, fueled by powerhouse marketing and promotions. Overall, World Clash set the standard for sound system competitions around the world, forever changing the competitive structure and professionalism of the sound clash arena.

World Clash is the first event of it's nature to attract such large numbers of diverse patrons. The event turned regular people into die hard clash fans. World Clash grew so rapidly and intensely, that scores of top media outlets took an interest in the event, allowing the competition to have international exposure. In 2004, the event reached unprecedented heights by joining forces with Puma, sending the winner Black Kat to Athens to join Jamaica's track team at the Summer Olympics that year.

Irish and Chin was at the forefront of sound clash culture for more than a decade. After the final stagings of World Clash in New York ("GAME OVER - 2007), England (U.K. Cup Clash - 2008 w/Reggae Girls Promotions), and Jamaica (World Clash Jamaica - 2010), the arena lost it's hype and many fans drifted astray. Fans have expressed how they truly miss the magnitude and larger-than-life presence of World Clash in the arena. So, it's no wonder that there is such fervor brewing, regarding World Clash's return. Immediately following the World Clash announcement on last week's Sound Chat Radio, bids to be on the line-up from sounds poured in. As Irish and Chin crafts super line-ups for World Clash Weekend, they are confident that World Clash will be a historic moment for the sound clash arena, while serving as a perfect anniversary celebration!

"We are hoping that the staging of the World Clash series in 2012 ignites the global interest, which once governed the sound clash arena. Although we are not committing ourselves to 2013 stagings, we would love to see the sound clash sport continue to prosper, ultimately reaching a higher level than that of World Clash," says Garfield "Chin" Bourne.
