Victim of a ruptured aneurysm in February 2011, the young J.O.E (for Jah Over Evil) aka Lil Joe passed away before realising his potential. A conscious artist revealed by Not Good at All for Gussie Clarke (on the Consuming Fire riddim), he had taken the name J.O.E after a first aneurysm rupture in November 2009. He would not survive the second, on 7 February 2011. He was 24.

The Equinoxx label put out a posthumous album over the summer, "Man from Judah". Available since 14 July (his birthday), the album collects his various singles and many unreleased tracks. Not Good At All is of course there, but also Vineyard Town (where he came from) with Bay-C of TOK, the nyabinghi Rasta Chant, Introduce with Ky-Mani Marley and Krayzie Bone (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony), and Fit with Konshens. Plenty to gauge his talent…
