For several weeks the warning signs had been piling up: limited news, no announcement of upcoming projects, the website shutting down… Until the first murmurs of Blood & Fire's closure grew more and more insistent. It is now official: the venerable English label (which was approaching its 15th anniversary) is shutting up shop. On its website, Natty Dread magazine mentions "buyers [who] might possibly be interested".

Many reggae fans took their first steps guided by Blood & Fire's brilliant reissues. Among their finest achievements, we might cite the reissues devoted to Yabby You (the recent "Deliver Me From My Enemies" but above all "Jesus Dread"), Trinity ("Shanty Town Determination"), Cornell Campbell ("I Shall Not Remove") and Max Romeo ("Open The Iron Gate"). With "Singerman", its latest project, Blood & Fire compiled the tracks of its prestigious catalogue at a low price.
