After a busy 2013, singer Marina P is getting ready to release her first album. "My Homeys", scheduled for 18 November 2013, compiles ten tracks, the fruit of her work with various producers.
Discovered on Mungo's Hi Fi's Belly Ska riddim (Divorce à l'italienne, which is not on the album), the Italian singer, based in Paris for 10 years, has surrounded herself with the producers of the moment. Resolutely digital, "My Homies" gathers productions by Mungo's Hi Fi, Jahtari, Stand High Patrol, Stepart, Soul Vybz, Dj Madd and Ondubground. It is an album made en famille, since these are all close collaborators.
It includes the track I Got, a reggae echo of Nina Simone's Ain't Got No / I Got Life:
The videos for Show Me and Chinatown will be released over the course of November.
"My Homeys", which comes out on Marina P's own label, Homeys Records, founded in 2013, will be available on CD, LP and digital.
Marina P is also currently on tour. She is notably accompanying Stand High Patrol, standing in for Pupajim on vocals.
