As we told you a little while ago, in the wake of a duet with Warrior King, the veteran Linval Thompson is back with a new album. "Ghetto Living" ends almost two decades of silence from the famous singer turned producer, barely interrupted by sporadic releases in the 90s. He had returned behind the mics in 2005 for an acoustic "Inna De Yard" session on Makasound. It is incidentally on that French label, which had already devoted a reissue to him in 2004, that this new album will come out in early 2009.
What we have heard so far gives hope for an album right in line with Linval Thompson's previous work. It features riddims by the French Handcart Band, but also riddims by Phillip "Fattis" Burrell of Xterminator and productions by Dubmatix (Linval Thompson also appears on his latest album, "Renegade Rockers").
