World Clash 2005: back to Brooklyn

World Clash 2005, to be held on 8 October over the Columbus Day weekend, returns this year to its original home, Brooklyn. It was indeed the place that marked the rebirth of the event in 1999, thanks to the efforts of Irish & Chin. It was also the year Mighty Crown won the competition.

The 2005 edition will pit the best sound systems of the year against each other: Black Kat (winner of World Clash 2004), Bass Odyssey (winner of the Jamaican Clash) and Mighty Crown (winner of the UK Cup) will be the headliners of the encounter. Alongside them, a selection of outsiders who will have to fight hard to compete: Desert Storm from Canada, selected after its performance at World Clash Canada, Immortal from Birmingham, who impressed the crowd at the UK Clash, and Sentinel, who will represent Germany, 6 years after Pow-Pow's participation.

Note that for the moment, there are no 45 rounds on the programme. It also seems that the organisers have sought to pare down the rules, which this year boil down to the formula "last man standing wins".
