*** ST CROIX NEWS ***

Moi le tune des tunes reste "Think About My Life".........brrrrrrrrr ce tune me donne des frissons !!

Sinon comme tu dis Neeko la tune 'think about my life' est vraiment enorme!!

Rise Up Crew a écrit :03. Pressure - Red Gold & Green (Ft Raff I Jah & Apostle)

"It's a big album. Zion High did most of the production (they did Yami Bolo's Rebelution), I Grade did one song and Lustre Kings did one song. There is a monster tune with Batch and Attitude called "Judgement".
Soon come."

"Three words for the weekend.....PRESSURE BUST PIPE!!!!!

The VI Crew was in full effect this weekend, taking over the village stage on Sunday to represent the roots vibe to the fullest. It was a blessing to see this much talent back to back and the whole of them came correct.

First things first..On Saturday night The Pressure was on in the Dancehall with the backing of King Judah Sound from St. Thomas. This young bredren came with so much fire, he had the crowd sold in no time. He ran through track after track from his new release with the confidence and stage presense of a seasoned veteran. Not to name names, but Pressure upstaged some very popular Jamaican artists who had touched down in the Dancehall on Friday night..no question.

Sunday started off right with Bambu backing Iba. Big Tunes like "Chant," "Jah Lion" and "Whatcha Gonna do to help save the world" with Tuff Lion singing amazing high harmonies. Iba always connects with the crowd and knows how to get things moving forward at the start of the show.

Next up was Pressure with Bambu Backing..Again he brought so much energy and ran his tunes flawlessly, like he had been singing with this backing unit forever. So many anthems on this new album, I keep my finding myself singing the hooks from his tunes...Buss Dem Brain, Gaaaaaaaaanja, Live What U Talk. Star Lion Crew Ya Large!!

Following Pressure was my highlight of the weekend....ARMY! The man has one of the sweetest voices in reggae music, and hes been long overdue to touch down on the West Coast. Army's voice sounded rich and smooth dropping many favorites...Sleep, Ghetto Life, Overtime, and some bangers from the new release Rasta Awake. The Bambu band was solid as ever backing him, and the I Grade crew was well represented.

After a short stage change, Batch and Ras Attitude took the stage with the Zioneers. What a heavy sound from this band. Both Batch and Ras Attitude shared the stage, alternating singing lead and then backing the other. Ras Attitude has a contagious smile and is operating on another level with his energy. He was bouncing all over the stage having the tiime of his life. Singing high high parts and then chanting with Fire all in the same breath.
Batch's set featured all of his big tunes and which sounded really nice live. Selassie I Way, Green Gold, and a crucial "Who You Are" to cap the set off. The SoundV.I.zion package was also highlighted by a cameo appearance from Bobo Ites who confidently rode a Zioneers riddim with his "Heathen Rage" chant from Eastbound.

The Bambu Station Crew eventually came out to put the finishing touches on the weekend. Jalani had the crowd hanging on every word as he introduced each tune, taking the time to make sure everyone felt his message. Its so nice to see these brothers get the recognition they deserve with the prime time slot.

All in all it was one the best afternoons at a reggae festival ever. The VI Crew was the saving grace for Roots Reggae at this festival with Shaggy as the headliner, and they represented to the fullest. It was a pleasure to meet the whole the crew this weekend, and hope that the California Massive treated you right.

I'll post some pictures when they get developed. So nice to see the Daniels (Frankston, Good Vibez, and Ras Danny), Ras E, B.G., Swami I and the whole VI West Coast crew. Big Things A Gwaan!!! Respect, MK"
