Thanks for the comments, both negative and positive
The clash v Downbeat was a good one, enjoyable too.
After that dance I stopped with the minidisc business, went to CDs with splits in so the intros didnt need to be played....so sometimes it was a little slow and now its much better. We did try to play faster than Downbeat though but whatever way you look at it, its hard to challenge a sound of such legendary proportions.
For me, it was nowhere near the best i could play. I was in the middle of a heavy divorce and my mind wasnt focussed on the event like it should have been.....not making any excuse...the night is what it is....hopefully people enjoyed my tunes still. But it wasn't the easiest period for me, and to undertake such an event was probably in hindsight not the best decision
The CDs of the night are still much better than these little clips as they are not very representative of what I played, but that's all the footage that there seems to be, so its better than nothing!
All in all it was a good education and a pleasure to be a guest there of Slim and the other guy (cant remember his name right now!). I'm not interesting in clashing anymore but the box is still loaded so if anyone wants to book us for a killer foundation dubplate night then get in touch still - [adresse retirée]
