The UK Cup Clash 2005, held in London on 16 April, lived up to expectations, with a few surprises along the way.
Bass Odyssey, the big favourite, was eliminated in the 5th round for breaking the "no profanity" rule (no insults) in force for that round. Faced with disappointing performances from One Love and Black Kat, the Birmingham sound Immortal made the most of it, reaching the dub fi dub against Mighty Crown. The Japanese, for their part, stayed very consistent throughout the clash, with an impressive 4th round in particular. They thus take home this long-awaited trophy.
Benefiting from a record turnout and with Ninjaman as host, the 2005 vintage of the UK clash was of excellent quality. A broadcast will go out on Saturday 23rd on BBC 1Xtra. The report will be online soon.
