Capleton the Generous Donor
on Tuesday, November 07th 2006 - 11 135 views
He has two tracks in the top ten of the charts (Forty sup'em and Wah dis wah dis, not counting Hit upon hit on its way), but that is not why Capleton was honoured this week in Jamaica, reports Yardflex. The head of the David House donated 1.2 million Jamaican dollars (€14,000) to various organisations in the parish of St Mary. Nearly half of the sum went to the Annotto Bay Hospital, the rest being distributed to various social organisations (including a football club and the Police Youth Club).
Capleton received his award among 17 other people, including nurses, firefighters, taxi drivers and a certain Lancebert Brown, who distinguished himself by saving a police officer swept away by torrential rain.
