In these times dominated by DJs, when dancehall is tending to establish itself as a music in its own right, totally emancipated from its reggae origins and influences, singer and producer Sugar Minott is preparing to return to the forefront with a brand new album.
Entirely self-produced, this opus is called "New Day" and features a number of veteran Jamaican artists (from Toots Hibbert to Josey Wales, via Ranking Trevor and Pam Hall), as well as several rising talents straight out of the Youth Promotion Crew.
With this new effort, Sugar Minott intends to remind the world, and especially the younger generations, that dancehall really does draw its roots from reggae and therefore has an obvious place for all singers of his kind.
