Matisyahu is back in the spotlight
on Monday, November 24th 2008 - 7 863 views
We discovered his Hasidic reggae in 2005, a year after the release of his first album "Shake off the dust… Arise". Since then Matisyahu has come a long way, touring the world, releasing a live album (2005) and joining the ranks of Epic. It was with them that he released his latest album "Youths" in 2006, and earned a Grammy Award nomination.
His third album, which will be announced shortly, takes new directions. « I really wanted to make a personal album. I didn't want to repeat myself. We really wanted to wait, create a buzz again, and have new music to deliver to our fans. » It brings together tracks produced by Sly & Robbie and Stephen McGregor, among others, and will be preceded by a four-track EP, "Shattered".
