The Jamaican magazine Splash has named its top 10 entertainers of the year. Unsurprisingly, Mavado and Vybz Kartel take the top spots. More surprising, Lady Saw climbs to third place, praised for her decision to leave VP and join independent producers. Elephant Man misses the podium despite his hits Nuh Linga and Gully Creeper and a Grammy Award nomination.

Busy Signal gets a curious fifth place given a year marked by a string of hits and the release of his explosive second album, "Loaded". In sixth, Beenie Man proves he remains Jamaica's darling, the deejay having fed the gossip pages more with his personal troubles than with his musical activity. The quartet LUST and Terry Linen come ahead of Etana and Mr Vegas, recently retired, who closes the ranking.
