Available from 30 March, City Kay's new album, "Travelling Southern Africa", was born during the band's journey through Southern Africa.
After releasing their second album, "Préoccupations", the Rennes band set off on tour in 2010. South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland: the Rennes band thus crossed 6 countries and 10 cities. A tour you could already follow on their blog.
To the written word is now added music: "Travelling Southern Africa" features the eight tracks written (and partly recorded) on the spot; and even images, with a short half-hour documentary retracing this human and musical adventure in South Africa.
Available with the new album, it is already online. We see the band during their stay in South Africa (Cape Town, Durban, or Soweto), where daily life is made of music (composing, rehearsals, concerts, interviews…) and where the band meets many artists: Crosby, The Tuff Masters (a family band with the 8-year-old son on drums), Winnie, Louie X, Ras Chris, H.I.M and Lord Harmony.
