A new twist in the Vybz Kartel trial: a juror's visit to the defence lawyers' offices could jeopardise the smooth running of the trial of the deejay and his co-accused.

The juror reportedly approached the defence during the Christmas holidays, the Jamaica Observer reports.
The lawyer allegedly refused to receive him and reported the visit (contrary to jurors' duty of impartiality) to Justice Lennox Campbell.
It is not yet known what repercussions this could have on the course of the trial.
After a break at the end of December, the Vybz Kartel trial continues this week with the "voir dire", a procedure held behind closed doors and in the absence of the jury, aimed at determining whether the evidence put forward by Sergeant Patrick Linton, head of the forensic unit in 2011, is admissible.
After the "voir dire", the jurors are expected to return this week.
