Justin Hinds has passed away

Justin Hinds died on Wednesday 16 March of cancer. He had returned to Jamaica to rest after chemotherapy in France. A figure of ska and rocksteady with hits such as Carry Go Bring Come, The Higher The Monkey Climbs and Over The River, Justin Hinds made his name with the Dominoes (Dennis Sinclair and Junior Dixon) from the early 60s until the mid 70s.

Withdrawn from the circuit after the death of their producer Duke Reid, they found their way back to the studios with Jack Ruby before, once again, stopping everything over a financial dispute.
The 80s saw them return to the studio, notably at Tuff Gong with "Travel With Love". While Dennis and Junior stopped making music for good in the early 90s, Justin Hinds took on multiple projects, notably with Keith Richards and the percussionists of the Wingless Angels.

More recently, Justin Hinds's career had been given a new lease of life with the albums and tours of the Jamaica All Stars, then the release of the very good album "Justin Time", on Passage Production last year.
