The Bible of reggae is finally out in French. Éditions Allia are reissuing "Bass Culture – quand le reggae était roi", written by Lloyd Bradley and until now available only in the language of Shakespeare. The book has a new cover (less attractive) but the content is unchanged: from calypso to the great Bob Marley, it traces the whole history of reggae and is packed with anecdotes. Descriptions of sound systems, the influence of the United States, Rastafarianism and England... nothing escapes Lloyd Bradley. An exhaustive and precise book, which we cannot recommend buying highly enough.
