On the eve of their first trip to Europe for the Ja'Sound, Midnite, a leading light of St Croix reggae, are going through some upheaval. Of the five original members, only the two Benjamin brothers remain: Vaughn and Ron, respectively singer (and band leader) and keyboardist.
The bassist, drummer and guitarist have left the group, formed in the 1980s, for "personal reasons", a source close to the band confirmed to us. It will therefore be a reshuffled Midnite that turns up in Bagnols sur Cèze in early August.
