The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origins) have delivered their verdict: Damian Marley took the trophy in the Reggae category, propelled by the locomotive that is Welcome To Jamrock.
He was up against Sean Paul and his recent We Be Burning, I Wayne and his hit Can't Satisfy Her, Richie Spice and the older Earth Ah Run Red, and finally Daddy Yankee (Gasolina).
His biggest hit was thus rewarded at a ceremony where the father's shadow loomed once again, since the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Bob Marley.
