The fourteenth edition of the Paris dub gathering Dub Meetings will not take place. For the first time since the event began, bookings are too low for the concert to go ahead, according to a laconic press release from DIKSUD, the organiser of Dub Meetings.
"Today, the very existence of DIKSUD is at risk", the release continues. "We need to take a break, to think, to restructure and to save private DIKSUD."
Channel One sound system, with Mickey Dread and the English duo Ras Kayleb and Jah Voice, as well as Blackboard Jungle, were expected this weekend. However, Dub Meetings #15 with Jah Tubby's and Sir Coxsone featuring U Brown and Joseph Cotton is still going ahead. It will be "the last of the season", DIKSUD concludes.
