Ja'Sound 2007 will not take place, but the festival has already found an event to support this year: Afrikabidon. In the heart of the Ardèche, in the little village of Bidon, Afrikabidon will offer from 19 July to 12 August 2007 a vast North-South forum, a place for exchange and encounters through debates, lectures, workshops and concerts. Musicians but also craftspeople (from lost-wax casters to bogolan makers, by way of traditional jewellers) will take turns through the summer to share their knowledge.

The concerts will begin on 19 July and end on Sunday 22 July with a performance by Tiken Jah Fakoly (his only date in France). Well, not quite: from 23 July to 5 August, 10 artists from the 5 continents will take part in a sculpture symposium on the theme: "Immigration, interpenetration?". Until 12 August, African siestas will take over to the sound of traditional rhythms (kora, balafon, gumbri, mbolon) around film screenings, public debates (with Pierre Rabhi, Edgar Pisani, Hubert Reeves, Henri de Lumley...), art workshops and exhibitions.
