After a long tug of war and a much-publicised negotiation, Ja'Sound has finally won the attention of the local council, paving the way for a new edition of Ja'Sound in 2008. After the lengthy administrative inspections the festival underwent (ultimately concluded by a "simple" VAT adjustment), during which the council refused to discuss a new edition, Tint'amart Production has finally won its case.
In a letter dated 11 July, the mayor of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, René Cret, "confirms [his] intention to relaunch the Ja'Sound festival" and intends to arrange a "working meeting" to that end. Daniel Ventajol, boss of Tint'amart Productions, tired of waiting in vain, had sent a rather pointed letter to the local officials, calling the media as witnesses and even hinting at the spectre of another relocation of the event.
