Richie Spice, reggae's new prince

You can condemn dancehall artists and love reggae artists: the English critics hailed Richie Spice's performance at the Brixton Academy on 8 December. Although his European shows have rarely matched his concerts in Jamaica, the enthusiasm of our neighbours across the Channel was such that they dubbed him the "New Prince of Reggae". Were they a little hasty? Time will tell. But after a very good album on VP, "In the Streets of Africa", Richie Spice wraps up a rich 2007.
