Buoyed by the success of his “Bob Marley, la légende des Wailers”, published in 2006 (read the article and interview), the Guadeloupean author Roland Monpierre has just released the second volume of his comic strip about the life of the king of reggae. Titled "Bob Marley, la légende du lion", this new instalment picks up Bob’s story where it left off, that is, at the moment of the split with Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh.

It is 1972 and the career of the Rasta prophet, then at the peak of his art, takes a decisive turn. Between music and politics, he is set to rise to the status of a true icon of the Third World, right up to the fateful year of 1981, which marks the end of his life, as well as that of this second part of his biography, made with as much brilliance as the first.
