Bob Marley’s widow is reportedly working with the Weinstein Company on a film adaptation of her book published in 2004, "No Woman no cry : my life with Bob Marley". Executive producer of this project, which for now has no director, Rita has hinted that she is thinking of her daughter-in-law, Lauryn Hill, to play her own part in the film, while Stefan Marley, the singer’s grandson, is rumoured for the role of the young Bob.
The announcement of this film, due out during 2009, comes only a few days after Martin Scorsese announced that he too intends to make a documentary about Bob Marley, for release in 2010. Fine projects, which risk however overshadowing one another.
