Rockstar Games, creator of the video game Grand Theft Auto, has just put online several trailers announcing the imminent release of the fourth instalment of the series, already one of the most anticipated video games of 2008.
Proof that his fame keeps growing, Mavado lent his voice to one of these trailers and even recorded a special version of his hit “Real McKoy” for the occasion. Note that he is also said to have recorded two other tracks for the reggae radio station available in the game’s many cars, and that Busy Signal is said to have recorded one too.
A bold gamble on the part of the developers, who had bet on safer but older names for the previous episodes (such as Dillinger or Shabba Ranks), this is a great opportunity to spread modern dancehall more widely and make it better known.
