Jamaica 1968: Year of Reggae

France is not the only place that likes to commemorate the year 1968. In Jamaica, too, it is the date that history has settled on for the birth of reggae, with the Toots & The Maytals track Do the reggay. 40 years deserves a celebration. After Treasure Isle, Queens of Jamaica and the Collectorama devoted to Lee Scratch Perry, the Jahslams label is announcing the release of a new compilation devoted to this pivotal year: "JAMAICA 1968 Year of Reggae". A selection of twenty tracks released that year in Jamaica, available on 23 June.
