Based for more than 20 years at 38 St Lucia Road, in the very home of its boss, the legendary Jammy's studio has been a building site for some time.
Even though Lloyd "King Jammy" James produces less and less, the Waterhouse studio is never idle, thanks notably to his sons John John, Jam2, Baby G and other visiting producers such as Ward 21. To this end, the King has embarked on major works, adding a floor to the original single-storey building. It now houses a state-of-the-art studio, intended more for mixing, which need not envy the best on the island in that category. Further improvements are planned as well.
No need to worry, however: the shop stays open during the works, as shown by the many productions credited to the James family of late (the Mission, Gang war and Shoot out riddims, or Busy Signal's track Nah go a jail).
