Jamaica's main radio station, Irie FM, has just announced that it has removed all of Richie Spice's songs from its programming.

This decision follows a controversy sparked by one of the tracks on his latest album, "Gideon Boot", released on VP Records. An offensive expression unfortunately placed at the end of the song in question was enough to get the album banned from the airwaves, along with Richie Spice's entire catalogue.
This radical measure, which surprised even Elise Kelly, the station's leading presenter, and against which the singer and his label fully intend to try to do something, seems logically to echo Irie FM's recently stated desire to toughen its programming policy (news of 14 May 2008).
