The rumour had been going round for a while and it already seemed to be in the air at the time of our last interview with the singer (read the interview of 31 May 2008). The Fifth Element label, which had propelled Richie Spice, Chuck Fender and Anthony Cruz to the forefront of the scene in the early 2000s, has just officially parted ways with its last protégé. After Fender, then Anthony Cruz, it is now Richie Spice's turn to fly with his own wings.

The label, like the singer, states that the split was by mutual agreement and on perfectly amicable terms. Richie Spice has indicated his wish to concentrate on his own label, Bonner Cornerstone Music, a family business that also manages the careers of his two brothers, Spanner Banner and Snatcha Lion.
