Directed by the New York filmmaker Johnny Wonder, the first instalment of the documentary Dancehall Draft Picks, distributed by VP Records and sold in more than 10,000 copies, set out to shed some light on the new generation of Jamaican dancehall artists (Busy Signal, Mavado, Aidonia, Tony Matterhorn…).

Buoyed by the success of this first volume, Johnny Wonder is getting ready to release a sequel, to which he is putting the finishing touches. This time, the documentary will broaden the focus a little, looking at dancehall artists such as Bugle, Chino or Pamputae, but also at others who are more reggae, such as Tarrus Riley, Etana, Queen Ifrica or Konshens. Even the producers will get a look-in, as Serani and Stephen McGregor will also be featured.
No precise date has been announced yet, but this DVD should see the light of day in the first months of 2009.
