The artists who will compete in the "Best Reggae Album" category at the 51st Grammy Awards are known. Few surprises, as they are mostly artists who have already been rewarded in the past. It's quite simple: apart from the mysterious Heavy D ("Vibes") and Elephant Man, for whom this is a first nomination ("Let’s Get Physical"), the other nominees have all won the trophy before: Burning Spear ("Jah Is Real"), Lee Scratch Perry ("Repentance"), Shaggy ("Intoxication") and finally Sly & Robbie ("Amazing").
The ceremony should give pride of place to the inevitable Lil Wayne: the New Orleans rapper has bagged eight nominations. Verdict on 8 February 2009.
