Olympique de Marseille right-back Tyrone Mears (25), on loan at OM from Derby County (English second tier), has accepted the Jamaica Football Federation's (JFF) proposal to represent the land of his origins.

The Stockport-born player (south of Manchester) will thus wear the shirt of the Reggae Boyz at the next international fixtures. The former Preston and West Ham player, who has still not played for Marseille in an official competition, should win his first cap for Jamaica (66th in the latest FIFA ranking) against Nigeria, with his teammate Taye Taïwo, on 11 February in... London.
