After a stay on the island of Saint Lucia, Amy Whinehouse had come back with a demo for her third album. Her tracks, with reggae influences, were reportedly turned down by the record company Universal (Island Records), the Sun reports.

After putting out a series of reggae covers (Monkey Man, You're wondering now, Cupid) for the deluxe version of her album "Back to Black", Amy Whinehouse clearly had more ideas in store, but the turn she had taken was apparently not to her bosses' taste.
The songs, most of which deal with her divorce from Blake Fielder-Civil, were reportedly "too dark". The change of style also risked complicating the marketing around the singer.
