Usain Bolt, triple Olympic champion in 2008 and 100 m record holder, did it again on Sunday 16 August at the world athletics championships in Berlin.

The sprinter, soon to turn 23, thus takes his first world title and beats his own record with 9.58s. His compatriot Asafa Powell takes the third step of the podium.
"Lightning Bolt"'s victory was celebrated as it should be, particularly in Half Way Tree, where three giant screens had been set up. The island's political figures also joined in the praise, while Jamaica expects to collect more titles in the 200 m and in the men's and women's 4x100 m relays.
