An exceptional Mavado concert was due to take place tonight, Wednesday 12 August, in Cayenne. The artist would thus have performed in French Guiana for the first time.

Whether it is an outright cancellation or a postponement to a later date, nobody really knows for the moment, but one thing is certain: the Guianese public finds itself deprived of the "Gully god" for the fourth time.
A visa problem, according to the organisers, is behind the cancellation: Mavado is indeed starting a series of dates in Japan next week, for which he has applied for a visa. As it was slow to be issued, he reportedly preferred to stay in Jamaica rather than jeopardise the administrative process.
