Télérama Dub Festival #7
on Tuesday, October 20th 2009 - 5 973 views
After criss-crossing the whole of France last year, the Télérama Dub Festival is dropping its touring format for the 2009 edition (the seventh already) and refocusing on Paris. From 24 to 28 November, almost thirty artists will take turns on three different stages in the capital.
The festivities will start on Tuesday 24 November at the Glazart with a tribute to Manutension, a member of Improvisators Dub who died last May.
Hammerbass DJ's, Dub Wiser, Djins, Sound Around, Don Dino (Big Dub, High Tone, Jarring Effects), Equal Brothers, Gary Clunk (Storm Break Records) and others will pay a final tribute to Manutension. Entry by donation: the proceeds of the night will go to his family.
On Friday 27 November, at the Elysée Montmartre, the line-up is substantial: Mad Professor & the Robotiks feat. Earl 16 & Faya Horns (UK), then Molecule meets Martina Topley Bird (with guests) and finally Dubblestandard (AUT) will follow one another on stage.
On Saturday 28 November, at the Trabendo, the closing of the festival goes big, with two separate nights: until midnight, Blood Shanti & The Shanti Ites will be joined by Aba Shanti-I (UK), who needs no introduction, but also Kanka (FR) and the French band Sonde. A deluge of bass is promised.
Then, from midnight until dawn, it is a procession: Aba Shanti-I (UK), Dreadzone (UK), Manasseh (FR), Dubphonic (FR), Lena (FR) and the Hammerbass DJ's will keep eardrums busy until 6am.
