The Grammy Awards have never quite reflected the year's Jamaican output. This 52nd edition of the famous ceremony will be no exception. You can't change a thing: two Marleys appear among the nominees. In the best reggae album category (there are 109 categories in all), the nominees are:
Buju Banton - Rasta Got Soul (Gargamel Music)
Gregory Isaacs – Brand new me (Tad's Records)
Julian Marley – Awake (Ghetto Youths / Tuff Gong / Universal)
Stephen Marley – Mind Control Acoustic (Ghetto Youths / Tuff Gong / Universal)
Sean Paul – Imperial Blaze (VP / Atlantic)
Ziggy Marley, for his part, is nominated in the "Best children's album" category with the album "Family Time" (Tuff Gong).
Beyoncé should take the lion's share, with 10 nominations, while Taylor Swift picks up eight. Next come the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West with five nominations.
