Toots Hibbert performed on 13 November in Los Angeles at a concert organised by the charitable foundation "Playing for change". He thus joins Ziggy Marley in this collective of musicians who play all around the world to raise funds for educational projects.
The Los Angeles concert was in fact intended to fund a learning centre in Jamaica. At the head of his own foundation for 5 years, Toots Hibbert has already made several donations to Jamaican organisations, through an original redistribution system: one euro (or one dollar) is deducted from every ticket sold for a concert by the Maytals' singer.
The "Playing for change" foundation had already created a buzz on the internet with several videos featuring street musicians and professional artists. Below, their version of Bob Marley's War and No more troubles.
