There was the Jamaican Sunrise, then the Ja’Sound, and then nothing. This year, it is the Garance Reggae Festival that will set up in the Parc Rimbaud in Bagnols sur Cèze. The Paris festival is leaving the capital for the first time since its creation and taking up its summer quarters in the Gard for four days, from 28 to 31 July 2010.

The Bagnols municipality clearly wants to keep its annual reggae festival, the last edition of which took place in 2007, a year that saw the Ja’Sound pile up mishaps (see news of 05/05/2008).
Garance Productions will work with the local association Vers les arts. "Garance productions has solid references and met the conditions set by the Town: no subsidy, a guarantee of looking after festival-goers, including hygiene and safety, reliance on local expertise and consideration of sustainable development principles," explains the deputy mayor for culture, Ghislaine Courbet.
Nothing has yet leaked about the musical programming. All we know is that Wednesday 28 July will be devoted to a dub night.
