In June Disney will release a compilation of songs from its animated films... in a reggae style. And to carry out this mission, "Yard" Disney has called on some of the genre's big names.

Over the 13 tracks of "Disney Reggae Club", you will find, for example, Morgan Heritage on The lion sleeps tonight, already covered by Desmond Dekker, featured in The Lion King, Gregory Isaacs covering Under the sea from The Little Mermaid, UB40 on the Jungle Book anthem I wanna be like you, and Yellowman on Find yourself, a song from the cartoon Cars.
Matisyahu, Ziggy Marley, Easy Star All-Stars, Steel Pulse and Toots Hibbert are also on board and, more surprisingly, Burning Spear and the roots trio The Wailing Souls each perform one track.
"The genius of Disney songs is that they are timeless and adaptable to all musical genres," explains the American producer Brian Malouf, who supervised the making of the album. In any case, there is no better way to introduce children to reggae.
