February was a good month for French sound systems involved in clashes.

On 20 February in Geneva, Guiding Star came out on top in a one-on-one on neutral ground against the German sound City Locks. This victory is significant for the European scene, since City Locks had come away victorious from the last Riddim Clash. This clash in Switzerland felt like a revenge match for the Germans, already beaten by Guiding Star in 2008 at the Spanish Cup (see news of 15/09/2008).
A week later, on 27 February, it was Irie Crew's turn to bring a trophy back to their home turf of Nancy. The sound won a duel in Bologna against the Italians of One Love Hi Powa, a more than serious opponent.
Let us hope these two pieces of good news will help French sounds earn more credit on the international clash circuit.
