Two sound clashes of differing scale took place over the Easter weekend, more than 7,000 km apart.

In Jamaica first of all, it was the traditional Death before dishonour clash, which saw Black Kat win, for the seventh time in a World Clash event. The battle was marked by the absence of Matterhorn and by a good performance from Sentinel, who held on until the dub-fi-dub. During the evening, Chin, the organiser, announced that the 2010 trophy would be named the "Squingy cup" in tribute to the late mc of Bass Odyssey.
Almost at the same time, in France, the six-sound clash "Reggae Champion arena", organised by Kawulé in Paris (see news of 15/03/2010), saw victory go to the sound Positive Irie, from the Centre region. Blackwarrel and Red Jedi were the first out, followed by I & I Riddim and Dancesoldiah. Calaloo put up a good fight but gave way in the dub-fi-dub.
