The roots singer Bobby Melody passed away in London at the end of April.
He is best known as a member of the duo The Prophets, who provided the harmonies for Yabby You. In the 70s, Bobby Melody also recorded for Joe Gibbs (the track Jah bring I joy is his biggest hit), Jah Thomas and Gregory Isaacs. He was also one of the artists of the Black Scorpio sound system.
Like many Jamaicans, Bobby Melody had left the island in the 80s for England, where he died.
