Now the only publication devoted to reggae on newsstands since Natty Dread ceased publication, Reggae Vibes is announcing a new format in its 14th issue, which puts Damian Marley on the cover. A special feature is devoted to Junior Gong, including an interview with Cindy Breakspeare, his lovely mum.
Reggae Vibes also looks back at Haile Selassie's visit to Jamaica, pays tribute to Sugar Minott, digs into the French dub scene (Zenzile, High Tone, Kaly Live Dub), and devotes a feature to Prince Buster.
Also included is a piece by historian Roger Steffens on the Nyabinghi experience of Keith Richards, the Rolling Stones guitarist.
The sampler CD features two tracks by Sugar Minott (including a dubplate), Damian Marley & Nas, Luciano, Hugh Griffiths & Kojak & Liza, Sammy Dread & Tappa Zukie, R.I.C, Abdou Day, Brando, Advoket and megamixes by Bost & Bim and Shane Brown (Damage Control Riddim).
