It is rare to receive this kind of statement: most of the time, when it comes to cancellations, organisers cite organisational or visa problems, which often hide weak advance sales. The reasons that led Musical Riot to cancel Scientist's appearance at the Marseille Dub Station are altogether different.
We reproduce the statement below:
"Despite all the respect we have for Scientist, who will remain a legend of our music for us, the gap between the performance expected and the one delivered is such that it is with regret that we are cancelling his appearance this Saturday.
Following recurring technical problems and the very poor quality of his shows since the start of his European tour, we have decided to cancel his appearance in Marseille for the 12th edition of the Dub Stations at the Cabaret Aléatoire.
Our wish has always been to put artistic quality ahead of simply putting a name on the bill.
We will announce very soon the names of the artists who will replace him."
Ranking Joe, OBF and Massilia Hi-Fi are therefore still on. More info soon.
