Another death shakes the dancehall scene in Jamaica: producer Daniel Lewis, better known as Blaxxx, died yesterday at the University Hospital of the West Indies. According to some accounts, he complained of back pain before being rushed to hospital. He will be buried on Thursday 24 March.
In just a few years, Blaxx quickly made his mark with essential riddims. On his Blaxxx label, he released the Egyptian riddim, co-produced with Don Corleon, as well as the Slingshot.
With Buccaneer, he had set up another label, Black House, which put out the Blackout riddim and also the Middle East.
